The Omnifax G5 was the first in this product
category, and Tradewind handled development of the software suite for DOS
and Windows.
Tradewind implemented a proprietary communications
protocol for uploading and downloading phone book data and images to the
device. The image data utilized advanced T6 compression, which was handled
by software in compact assembly language to meet performance and size
requirements.
Windows and DOS configuration software, phone book
management, cover-page creation, image manipulation, viewing, and the OCR
interface were major parts of the project, for which Tradewind Software
was also responsible.
